Increased petrol costs ... and no pay increase?

I was at the garage today and couldn't believe how much petrol was now.   Over £1.40 in the UK!   I am lucky that, working from home, I can give myself an increased pay rise when I want.

What about you?   If you are still lucky enough to have that 'job for life' when did you last get a wage increase?

Or has overtime gone down, you have no wage increase and costs rising?

Are you worrying about petrol rises?  Don't think you can afford it?   Robbing Peter to pay Paul?

Financial Times: The modern face of door-to-door sales.

Our Break Free option is so proving such a success, it even warranted a mention in the Financial Times, under the heading: The modern face of door-to-door sales.
The article stated: “Kleeneze, launched its “Breakfree” structure in January last year after realising that would-be agents were put off by the £80 entry charge – the cost of buying sufficient catalogues to push through letter boxes. By switching to a system whereby agents can be sponsored by an existing distributor, they no longer need a stash of 50 catalogues but can get away with just five, which they use to show clients.
“That’s brought significant volume in,” says Jamie Stewart, managing director of Kleeneze. “So far we have brought in around 8,500 people by this method.”

Bossed out your job?

Just over one in ten people (11%) leave their jobs because they hate their boss, according to new research conducted by Kleeneze.

The study of over 2,000 people leaving their jobs, found that getting away from a bad boss was a major factor behind people choosing to quit.
The number one reason given for changing jobs was to earn more money (35%), often to avoid getting into debt, with 8 out of 10 of this group saying that their previous income didn’t meet their outgoings.
17% of people quitting said that they were doing so in order change their lifestyle, often to get a better work / life balance.
Jamie Stewart, managing director of Kleeneze, said: “Clearly many people leave their jobs because of a clash of personalities rather than for more practical reasons.
“We’re seeing more and more people joining Kleeneze saying that becoming their own boss was a major factor in their decision. Obviously problem bosses play a significant role in millions of people each year changing jobs or even deciding to start their own business.”

Missing Children's School Events Because of Work?

New research from Kleeneze has revealed that nearly half of the parents in Britain have been forced to miss a key event at their child’s school because of work commitments.

A total of 46 per cent of working parents had not been able to attend school functions such as sports days, school plays or parent-teacher evenings because they were unable to leave their office in time.
One in four of the parents questioned said workplace commitments and rigid working hours prevented them from taking to their child to and from school. More than one in five said they could only change their working hours to fit round their family in an emergency, while 12 per cent said they could not alter their working arrangements at all.
Nearly one in three (29 per cent) said work commitments meant they felt they were becoming distanced from their children. Perhaps even more astonishingly, a total of 45 per cent of working mums and dads feared they were seen as bad role models by other parents.
Jamie Stewart, managing director of Kleeneze, said: “Clearly many parents are missing out on key events during their children’s school life because of what seems like harsh work commitments.
“It is vital that parents can experience some of the triumphs of their children’s school time not only to give their child support, but also to ensure they do not become distanced from their children. More and more parents are turning to part-time jobs which enable them to work round their child’s day. Around 65% of our distributors are working parents who have chosen Kleeneze as it gives them greater flexibility and balance in their lives.”

Work to you Drop?

Work until you drop. A familiar tabloid newspaper headline becoming too much of a reality for many of the baby boomer generation.

The latest figures show that record numbers of older people – particularly women – are now working beyond the age of 60.   And 65?!

The article here in the Saga magazine discusses this very issue!   Why not start building your own business NOW and retire early?   With us it's an option!

Retired But Needing to Work?

A couple who lost everything in the recession have avoided bankruptcy by trying their hand at ‘partirement’ – returning to work on a part time basis – with Kleeneze.

Geoffrey White (75) and his wife Cathy (59) formerly ran their own catering business, and retired five years ago. They had invested heavily in property both in the UK and overseas, and when the credit crunch hit in 2008, they made huge losses – the couple soon found themselves a week away from declaring bankruptcy.
Geoffrey said: “We literally lost everything and we needed to get back on track financially as soon as we could; as we’re both past retirement age, though, our options were extremely limited.”
While researching ways that they could make money, Cathy found out about Kleeneze. The couple decided to start their own business with Kleeneze, and are now making up to £2,500 a month running their Kleeneze business on a part-time basis; supporting their team of Kleeneze distributors and their own local customers.
Cathy said: “We received our first pay cheque within four weeks, which helped immensely. We’ve since built our business and now have a team of distributors working with us.”
Geoffrey continued: “While we never expected to have to return to work, Kleeneze offered the ideal solution because we can build our own hours, so we’re still able to enjoy our retirement.”
Geoffrey and Cathy aren’t the only couple having to contend with financial instability in their old age; many people of retirement age are now finding that their pensions aren’t enough to live off. And with the latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), showing that 1.4m people aged between 51 and 65 – and 900,000 people already over the age of 65 – are now expected to live to 100, many are worried that their savings won’t be enough to see them through their final years.
Jamie Stewart, managing director of Kleeneze, said:  “’Partirement’ is becoming increasingly common. A significant number of our distributors are of retirement age and we’ve seen an increasing number of applications from those looking to top up their pensions or save for their future.
“As well as allowing you to make money quickly, working with Kleeneze offers a great social community combined with regular outdoor activity.”

Kleeneze’s Young Entrepreneurs

In the last twelve months, Kleeneze has seen enquiries from 18 to 20-year-olds shoot up. Is it any surprise, though, as many struggle to afford university only to emerge to a lacklustre job market?
As youth unemployment reaches a record level and those starting university in 2012 looking at future debts of around £53,000, we caught up with some of our youngest up-and-comers to find out why they choose Kleeneze.
“We weren’t really aware of Kleeneze before our sponsor’s catalogue dropped through the letterbox and even then we didn’t know really how big a company Kleeneze was or how we could develop it into a business. We just saw it as a ’small catalogue job’ that we could do on the side around our studies to earn extra cash.
When we first started, in March 2007, we were earning around £250 every 4 weeks, fitting it around our studies and social life. However, when we saw what we could be earning, we started doing it more seriously and quickly built our income up to over £1,000 every 4 weeks.
Sam was still studying at university at this point! Now that she has graduated, we’ve both been fully concentrating on our business and building our income up. This September, our cheque was for £2,215.19.
There is often a negative stigma attached to being a Kleeneze Distributor, because the majority of people don’t understand how it works or what it can actually offer. They see it as just simply delivering and collecting catalogues for pocket money and not as a business through which you can build up a substantial income. Some see it as something that you do when you can’t find another job, a last resort, that it is beneath them and it is our role to give them a better understanding of what Kleeneze is and what it has to offer that way, if they decide it isn’t for them at least they’re basing their decision on the correct information.
For instance, the time freedom and flexibility, to be able to choose our hours building our business is great, but it’s also about choosing the hours in which we do other things and not being accountable to a boss, but to ourselves and each other.
Kleeneze is continually developing us as people and has provided us with so many more opportunities than a ’conventional job’ could. Not only does it allow us to choose our hours, but also the income we earn. If we need to earn more money, we just do more to earn more”
Sam Rushton and Dean Worrell
“I joined Kleeneze when I was 18, in 2007. At the time I had just been accepted into university, but I decided to have a gap year to have a break from education and earn some money. I found myself a job working for a bank, but within 3 weeks I was already sick of having a boss. I used to dread getting up and going to work every day.
I decided that even if I went to university, the chances were I would come out and still have to have a boss, be told when to work, and to work all my life. That didn’t appeal to me.
My parents did Kleeneze, but I thought it wasn’t a ‘proper job’. I could never understand why my mum was sitting sorting out catalogues every evening when she could be watching the telly! It just didn’t seem very glamorous, but after three weeks of working in the bank, I finally understood why they did it. So I joined, earned over £600 in my first 4 weeks and I’ve never looked back.
There’s definitely a misconception about Kleeneze. At school, my teachers were pushing me to apply for Oxford University, and my friends saw me as the boffin of the group. When they found out that I quit my job and wasn’t going to university, because I was doing Kleeneze they were shocked to say the least.
My friends struggled to understand why I had given up on my education, but that just drove me to prove them wrong. I think they assumed ‘doing catalogues’ was for people that didn’t have any qualifications to get a job!
It is definitely now a different story. My friends appreciate how hard I have worked and they see how it has paid off. I’m now 22, earn approximately £2,000 every 4 weeks, have my own brand new car and my boyfriend and I have just moved into our first house.”

Flexible working hours - more family time

Apparently there are 179,000 single fathers in the UK, many of whom have had to give up their ‘normal’ job in order to support their children – a change which can often lead to financial hardship. Luckily, for many Kleeneze Distributors, their business means that they don't have to make a choice between being with their children and earning a good living.

Sadly, too many parents who are working work too many hours, leaving in the dark and returning in the dark, barely spending anytime with their family.   And if they leave them with child minders or other family members, they have the guilt of not seeing them grow up.
Kleeneze provides single parents with a real alternative. Without its flexibility they would not be able to provide their children with what they need physically and emotionally. The Kleeneze business model means they can have time to concentrate on the important things – like making sure the children get the right packed lunches every morning, being there when they are sick and at concerts and sports events – while not having to worry about money.

We really do believe we have the solution!

Stress At Work

At one time or another, we have all suffered from work-related stress.   Perhaps you suffer from deadlines and workloads which are not realistic, or are less people expected to do more?

Most people in the UK appear to be working longer hours for less money.   The results are less time for yourself to relax or chill with family and friends.  And less money and worrying about the bills adds to your stress.

Are you caught in this just now?  Would you like a way out to work from home or to earn and extra income to help with ever increasing expenses?

Many Students skipping class to pay for studies

40% can't afford university without a part-time job A third of college and university students are missing lectures in order to work part-time, as rising university costs force them to pay their way through their studies.

A recent study of 1,000 students, by home shopping firm Kleeneze, also found that 40% of students questioned said they couldn’t afford to go to university without a part-time job and that one in ten had to take on two jobs around their studies. Almost a third (29%) of those questioned expect to have more than £20,000 in debt when they graduate and 31% expect to move back in with their parents.

Jamie Stewart, managing director for Kleeneze, said: “As the cost of going to university continues to rise, students are reliant on part-time jobs to supplement their student loans. “However, traditional student jobs often don’t provide the flexibility they need, which leaves them with a difficult juggling act to deal with and it’s prompted some to look at alternative earning opportunities. “We’ve seen enquiries from 18 to 20 year olds increase more than ten-fold in the last year as a result. Many are signing up to become Kleeneze distributors, because they want to control the hours they work and their earnings.”

The survey also revealed that 46% of students would like to be their own boss when they finish university and a fifth of those polled had been inspired by shows such as Dragon’s Den to become an entrepreneur. Jamie added: “There seems to be a real ambition in today’s students to run their own business. At Kleeneze we give people the opportunity to work for themselves, with the support of our network behind them. It’s given some of our student distributors a taste for being their own boss and some have gone on to work for Kleeneze full time after graduating.”

The survey of 1000 students was conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Kleeneze.

So what is Kleeneze all about?

The hidden cost of the cuts

The threat of redundancy is more prominent in today's economy. In today’s climate, losing your job is a very real fear for many.

Thoughts of how you will be able to pay for your mortgage and feed your kids can be an incredibly panic inducing one. However, it’s often the smaller things that can see your situation spiralling out of control; a credit card you can’t pay for, a loan that you’d never worried about being able to afford before.

This was the situation Elaine and Martin Spafford found themselves in after Martin was made redundant from his job as a TV engineer. With five children, all of school age, between them suddenly they realised that they would have to come up with an alternative income and fast.
“I was a head housekeeper and receptionist in a hotel,” explains Elaine. “It was quite a distance for me to travel, though, and on minimum wage after paying for petrol, it really wasn’t worth it.

“Martin had been in his job for 28 years when they started making redundancies. At first, they hinted that some people would be made redundant, but you never knew exactly who it was going to be and they didn’t have voluntary redundancies. By the time he was actually made redundant, the package had decreased and Martin was feeling very disheartened with it all.”

Up until then, the couple had credit cards and loans that you would find in a usual household. It was all manageable and something they didn’t really think of as a problem. However, when Martin lost his job they realised it was something that could quickly spiral out of control.

“We’d never worried about debt before and we were managing just fine,” remembers Elaine. “We didn’t think about it – it was easy and we just used it for everyday life like many people do. If it hadn’t been for the change in our circumstances, we probably would have carried on in that vein without a thought. “However, when Martin was made redundant, we could see that without getting an income immediately, we wouldn’t be able to pay it off and we would have got into serious problems very quickly. His redundancy package meant that benefits were out of the question and realistically we didn’t want to go down that route anyway.”

Elaine had, in fact, a few years earlier tried Kleeneze. It wasn’t the right time and after deciding she didn’t understand the network marketing side of it enough, she left. The couple’s situation had now changed, though, and Kleeneze was once again on the cards.

“We knew we could make the income from the retail straight away to tide us over until we got to grips with the networking side of it all,” she explains. “In our first month we made £676. Within three months we were making over £700. By six months it was £1,200. That was all retailing. You can earn anything you want with the retailing.”

They were finally back in control, but it was more than having an income that gave them happiness. “Martin had really had enough of working for someone else by the time we joined Kleeneze,” said Elaine. “In fact, that was probably the main reason we joined. You know where you stand having your own business. Our last income was £2,200 and that’s just great considering we fit our hours in around all the family commitments we have as well. I know that if we want more, we can just do more. We’d never look back now.

I wish everyone could see the potential of Kleeneze.”
